Snow

Rexburg had its first snow yesterday and it reminded me of where I was last year during our first snow. Oh, the memories :)
October 10th 2011, it snowed like crazy in Driggs, Idaho. All our classes got cancelled because none of our professors could drive from Rexburg. So we made hot chocolate, turned on some Christmas tunes, and relaxed by the fire all day. It was perfect.

I can't believe how much I miss this place! Badger Creek was my first experience being away from home for College, and I couldn't ask for a better place to be or more amazing people to be with.

Every time I mention Quest, no one understands. So I'll explain it here, and it will be the last time I ever have to! (Yeah right, I'll be explaining it for the rest of my life) Quest is a program offered through BYU-Idaho. A group of 30 students are accepted and they spend half a semester in cabins at Badger Creek, the most beautiful place on earth. We went white water rafting, repelling, horse back riding, exploring, took classes, and met our future husbands...oh wait, that was just me. More about that later :)

At Quest I became close to everyone. We were one big happy family! Here are a few of the amazing people I met:

Mckenzie (Soon to be my new sissy) She's been there since day 1, which includes the 24 hours before I met Jess. I've been with her as she searched for "the one" but who were we kidding? We all knew that it was my brother. She's awesome and we like to dance together...a lot.

My man, Nick! We became instant friends on Day 1 as well. He's a great listener and has some crazy stories.

Yes, our shirts do say "Driggs, Idaho" LOVEI T.

Fluffy. He was great! Just kidding he was scary.

Ariel, Sierra (aka Sip) and Will. These three could make laugh til I felt like I was going to pass out.

Ricky, Will again, and Tanner. Ricky is one of the sweetest guys I know and Tanner, oh Tanner. He's wanting to go to law school so you can imagine that he never let me or anyone win any debate. It drove me crazy but I love him and his crazy personality to death.

I loved every single questie, like our crazy counselors Mike and Tom who managed to have every single girl fall in love with them. Lauren who ALWAYS volunteered to do my chores for me when I was off  on dates with Jess, Jennica who is definitely the most kind hearted person I've met, Allison who  makes any outfit look good and is literally my oldest sisters twin I swear. Steven who I could talk to for hours and Stephanie who put up with me sneaking in every night through our dorm window and scared me to death when she talked in her sleep. I miss my quest family!

Goodnight world! Happy snow fall :)

EmBowlin.

I was reading through some old blog posts today when I saw a comment that I had somehow missed:

How could I miss this?!? I don't know, but I obviously owe someone a serious blog dedication.
Facts about the lovely Emilie Bowlin:

Emilie Bowlin is probably, definitely the funniest person I know.

She can't call me by "Chany" which nearly everyone calls me now-a-days. Somehow her mouth can't form it, but I'm okay with it because for some reason I can't just call her by her first name. "Bowlin" always, ALWAYS has to follow.

Emilie Bowlin has accepted her red hair and knows that for eternity people will always have to comment on it or make a lame joke. Secretly everyone is jealous because her hair is gawgeous

If I were a child, I would want Emilie Bowlin to babysit me...all the time. She's one of those creative genius's I'm always talking about.

She is a fabulous and loyal friend. Apparently getting married makes friends feel super awkward, but she stuck with me and supported me through everything. We have grown up conversations like bosses.

Her snail mail letters will make your day.

She's really smart,  beautiful, and has fabulous taste, and is humble about it all. She's pretty awesome.

This list goes one! But really, go read her blog

Have a Nice Day!

To all my Nielsen siblings/parents: You laugh because you know this captures Jess and (especially) me perfectly.
To all others who don't know this side of me: Sorry, I had to. :)
Have a nice day!

Into Lately

White Eyeliner.
For some reason white eyeliner makes me look like I'm more ready for the day ahead of me, when really I just want to go back to sleep.

Birds.

....Birdcages.
I promise I'm not an old woman...they just make for super duper cute decorations!

Running.
Those who know me know that I'm not a big fan of running, I do it for exercise and that's it. Lately I've been enjoying it (possible? yes.)  and signing up for races. I'm awesome.

Pallets.
We discovered the many uses of pallets from our awesome friends, Jay and Camilla. We picked up an old pallet from behind a store, stained it, and varnished it. It looks so so so so good and it's unique! The best thing is that you don't need to hang up anything else because it takes up a ton of space and it adds just the right amount of character and decoration to a wall.

Baby...stuff.
Now stay with me guys. I just can't control the big long "Awwwww" that comes out when I see those teeny tiny little newborn socks or the adorable little shoes! Gah. Get's me every time.
Shirts like this.
Slim fit with a slim tie and khakis? Yes please. If you don't see it, you don't have the right vision. :)

Blarg.

The title of my blog post today is inspired by the one and only Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. It's about the only show Jess and I watch... okay, who am I kidding with this "about" stuff, it literally IS the only show we watch. If you haven't seen or heard of 30 Rock. Get on Netflix, make an account, watch every single episode, love it, laugh, get addicted, and then you can delete your Netflix account. Seriously. It's awesome.

Anyway, the word "Blarg" is used when frustrated. Such as why I am using it now. WHY IS MY BLOG NOT CUTE LIKE EVERYONE ELSES. So here's my issue: Blog not cute, people no want to look at blog, me no want to blog everyday. I guess not everyone can be an awesome blogger like my wonderful sister, or my old Questie friend who's blog I totally envy, or my  sister's lovely sister in law.

And also my addiction to Pinterest doesn't help. Everyone on there is a creative genius. Sigh. My homely blog and I will try to get along. In the meantime, here are some pictures of my cute puppy that will make up for my lack of awesome blogging skills.

 ...So cute.

Procrastination.

It's no coincidence that my blogging stopped right when school stopped. It's also no coincidence that I'm starting back up right now with school starting in a couple days and with homework assignments that I should be doing instead. Or maybe it is coincidence.... who knows ;)

Annnyyywhooo. Summer was dang good to us. I could bore myself and all of my two followers with a 10 page blog post, but I'll post some pictures of the highlights of our lovely summer instead!

We drove to Oregon to interview Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

And then we discovered that Oregon is a really weird state.

We saw Bill Cosby live. Holy Hilarious.

I started working at a DayCare (again)

I went golfing with Jesse once...and now he goes with his boyfriends. I guess golf is kind of boring if you aren't good? Who knew.

We had a baby! Haha just kidding...

We cruised around and spent the night on the Love Boat for a couple of weekends

 We fished...very unsuccessfully

Jess taught me how to wake surf

I met Herbie at the Driggs 4th of July Celebration

We watched a plane crash...man I'm such a jokester! But it looks like it, right?

We took the kayaks for a spin

We took the hottest ride of our life to Iowa with Kenz and Taybay.

Our transmission was having issues and it seemed like turning the AC off in 110 degree weather was a smart idea?

We had oh so much fun with the fam in Iowa

The boys climed a 14,000 ft mountain in Estes Park, Colorado

Taylor pooped on a 14,000 ft mountain in Estes Park, Colorado

We had a small little reception in Iowa. I loved getting back into my dress!

We spent an entire day at Adventureland

I dyed my tips pink. Purple's next :)

We got a TV...with no TV shows (yet)

And last but certainly not least, we got a maltipoo puppy!

 Caribou (Boo)

And that was the gist of our summer!

...Now I guess I should go do my homework.
